योजना वाला पिकनिक

जब मिस डिसूज़ा ने कक्षा की पिकनिक की घोषणा की, तो सभी बच्चे खेलों और नाश्ते के सुझाव देने लगे। तभी आरव को पिछली शैक्षिक यात्रा याद आई, जहाँ प्लास्टिक के कप घास पर उड़ रहे थे और बिना खाए भोजन के कई पैकेट फेंक दिए गए थे। उसने पूछा कि क्या इस बार पिकनिक की योजना अलग तरह से बनाई जा सकती है।

When Ms. D’Souza announced the class picnic, everyone began suggesting games and snacks. Then Aarav remembered a field trip when plastic cups had blown across the grass and several bags of untouched food had been thrown away. He asked whether they could plan the picnic differently.

कक्षा ने एक सरल सूची बनाई। परिवार वही भोजन रख सकते थे जिसे बच्चे वास्तव में खाते हों और उतनी ही मात्रा पैक कर सकते थे जितनी उनके लिए उचित हो। किसी को नया या महँगा डिब्बा लाने की ज़रूरत नहीं थी; घर में मौजूद साफ़, दोबारा इस्तेमाल होने वाले डिब्बे पर्याप्त थे। शिक्षिका ने कहा कि भोजन की सुरक्षा और सबकी ज़रूरतों का सम्मान करने के लिए एलर्जी या विशेष आहार की जानकारी उन्हें निजी तौर पर दी जा सकती है। बच्चों ने पीने का पानी भरने की जगहें भी पता कीं और अपनी बोतलें लाने की योजना बनाई।

The class made a simple checklist. Families could choose foods their children would actually eat and pack portions that suited them. No one was required to bring a special or expensive container; clean reusable boxes already at home were enough. The teacher asked families to mention allergies or dietary needs privately so food could be handled safely and respectfully. Students also checked where drinking water could be refilled and planned to carry their own bottles.

एक छोटी टोली बनाई गई जो सबको रैपर, पैकिंग और बाकी कचरा समेटने की याद दिलाती। दूसरी टोली देखती कि पिकनिक की जगह वैसी ही साफ़ छोड़ी जाए जैसी उन्हें मिली थी। शिक्षिका ने समझाया कि बच्चों को नुकीला या अनजान कचरा नहीं उठाना चाहिए; कुछ असुरक्षित दिखे तो किसी वयस्क को बताना चाहिए। सभी ने तय किया कि वे जंगली जानवरों को खाना नहीं खिलाएँगे और पीछे भोजन नहीं छोड़ेंगे।

They created a small team to remind everyone to collect wrappers, leftover packaging, and other waste. Another team checked that the picnic area was left as they found it. The teacher explained that children should not handle sharp or unknown waste; they would tell an adult if they found anything unsafe. Everyone agreed not to feed wild animals or leave food behind.

पिकनिक के दिन योजना अच्छी तरह काम आई। बच्चों ने खेलों के सुझाव साझा किए, बोतलों में पानी भरा और जिन्हें और भूख लगी थी वे थोड़ा अतिरिक्त भोजन ले सके। अंत में पूरी कक्षा ने जगह की जाँच की और कचरे को सही संग्रह-स्थल तक पहुँचाया।

At the picnic, the plan worked well. Some children traded game ideas, some refilled their bottles, and those who were still hungry could take a little more rather than everyone being given too much at once. At the end, the class checked the area together and carried their waste to the proper collection point.

वापसी की बस में बच्चों ने कहा कि सूची बनाने से मज़ा कम नहीं हुआ था। इससे उलझन और बर्बादी कम हुई थी। उन्होंने कक्षा की पार्टियों और खेल-दिवस पर भी यही तरीका अपनाने का निर्णय लिया। शिक्षिका ने याद दिलाया कि ज़िम्मेदार चुनाव अक्सर कार्यक्रम शुरू होने से पहले ही किए जाते हैं।

On the bus home, the students said the checklist had not spoiled their fun. It had prevented confusion and waste. They decided to use the same planning habit for class parties and sports days. The teacher reminded them that responsible choices often happen before an event begins.
