सबसे धीमी चेतावनी

कक्षा में बच्चे पोस्टर बना रहे थे, तभी सना को शिक्षक की मेज़ के नीचे लगे बिजली के बोर्ड के पास हल्की गंध आई। उसने अपनी जगह से ध्यान से देखा, लेकिन धुआँ नहीं था। एक सहपाठी बोला, “शायद प्रिंटर की गंध होगी।”

The class was making posters when Sana noticed a faint smell near the power strip under the teacher’s desk. She looked carefully from where she stood but saw no smoke. “It may just be the printer,” a classmate said.

सना असमंजस में थी। वह छोटी-सी बात के लिए पाठ रोकना नहीं चाहती थी, लेकिन उसे स्कूल का नियम याद आया—असामान्य गंध, आवाज़ या नुकसान के संकेत किसी बड़े को बताने चाहिए। उसने शिक्षक को धीरे से बताया कि गंध कहाँ आई थी।

Sana felt uncertain. She did not want to interrupt the lesson over nothing, but she remembered the school rule: unusual smells, sounds, or signs of damage should be reported to an adult. She told the teacher quietly and pointed out where she had noticed the smell.

शिक्षक ने उसे धन्यवाद दिया, विद्यार्थियों को उस जगह से दूर रहने को कहा और स्कूल की सुरक्षा प्रक्रिया अपनाई। बच्चों ने तारों को नहीं छुआ और उपकरण का प्लग निकालने की कोशिश भी नहीं की। स्थिति सँभालने का प्रशिक्षण पाए कर्मचारी ने कमरे की जाँच की और योग्य तकनीशियन से उपकरण की जाँच कराने की व्यवस्था की। एक उपकरण ज़रूरत से ज़्यादा गर्म हो रहा था, इसलिए उसे इस्तेमाल से हटा दिया गया।

The teacher thanked her, asked the students to step away from that area, and followed the school’s safety procedure. The students did not touch the cables or try to unplug the equipment. A staff member trained to handle the situation checked the room and arranged for the device to be examined by a qualified technician. One device had been overheating and was removed from use.

बाद में एक सहपाठी ने सना से कहा, “मुझे लगा तुम बेवजह बात बढ़ा रही हो।” सना ने जवाब दिया, “मुझे भी पता नहीं था कि क्या हो रहा है। बस इतना पता था कि किसी बड़े को जाँच करनी चाहिए।” शिक्षक ने समझाया कि चेतावनी बताने का अर्थ कारण जानने का दावा करना नहीं है। इसका मतलब है कि सही व्यक्ति सुरक्षित तरीके से स्थिति का आकलन कर सके।

Later, a classmate told Sana, “I thought you were making a fuss.” Sana replied, “I wasn’t sure what was happening either. I just knew an adult should check.” The teacher explained that reporting a warning sign is not the same as claiming to know the cause. It is a way to let the right person assess it safely.

सना को न पूरी तरह निश्चित होने की ज़रूरत थी, न किसी नाटकीय बहादुरी की। उसे बस संकेत पहचानना, बताना और खतरे से दूर रहना था।

Sana did not need to be certain or brave in a dramatic way. She only needed to notice, speak up, and stay away from danger.
