कल से किया गया वादा

सत्र समाप्त होने वाला था और कक्षा संगीत, सजावट और साथ मिलकर नाश्ता करने के साथ समारोह मनाना चाहती थी। शिक्षक ने उन्हें छोटा बजट दिया और आयोजन की योजना स्वयं बनाने को कहा।

The term was almost over, and the class wanted to celebrate with music, decorations, and a shared snack. The teacher gave them a small budget and asked them to plan the event themselves.

पहले प्रस्ताव में लगभग सारी राशि गुब्बारों, छपे बैनरों और एक बार इस्तेमाल होने वाली प्लेटों पर खर्च हो जाती। एक विद्यार्थी बोला, “यह बहुत शानदार लगेगा।” दूसरे ने पूछा, “अगले महीने कक्षा के प्रोजेक्ट के लिए क्या बचेगा? और बाद में इस सारी चीज़ का क्या होगा?” समूह को समझ आया कि उन्होंने अगले दिन के बारे में सोचे बिना केवल एक दोपहर की योजना बनाई थी।

The first proposal used nearly all the money on balloons, printed banners, and disposable plates. “It will look amazing,” one student said. Another asked, “What will we have left for the class project next month? And where will all this go afterwards?” The group realised they had planned for one afternoon without thinking about what came next.

उन्होंने नए सिरे से तीन खाने बनाए—ज़रूरी, दोबारा इस्तेमाल होने योग्य और वैकल्पिक। उन्होंने सादा नाश्ता चुना, स्कूल के भंडार से कपड़े की सजावट उधार ली और ऐसा बैनर बनाया जिसे फिर इस्तेमाल किया जा सके। अगली कक्षा के प्रोजेक्ट के लिए कागज़, बीज और लेबल खरीदने हेतु कुछ पैसे बचाने का निर्णय किया। उन्होंने सफ़ाई की ज़िम्मेदारी भी बाँटी, ताकि अगले समूह को कमरा व्यवस्थित मिले।

They began again with three columns: essential, reusable, and optional. They chose a simple snack, borrowed fabric decorations from the school store, and made a banner that could be used again. They agreed to keep some money for paper, seeds, and labels needed by the next class project. They also planned who would clean up so the next group would find the room ready.

समारोह उत्साहपूर्ण रहा। बच्चों ने गीत गाए, कहानियाँ साझा कीं और अपने बनाए रंगीन काम से कमरा सजाया। किसी को नहीं लगा कि सादा योजना होने से आयोजन कम खास हो गया।

The celebration was lively. Students sang, shared stories, and decorated the room with colourful work they had made themselves. Nobody felt that the plan was less special because it was modest.

एक महीने बाद छोटी कक्षा ने पौधे लगाने का प्रोजेक्ट शुरू किया और आवश्यक सामग्री तैयार मिली। समारोह की योजना बनाने वाले विद्यार्थियों ने देखा कि उनका छोटा-सा निर्णय ऐसे लोगों की मदद कर गया जिनसे शायद वे मिलते भी नहीं। उन्होंने सीखा कि ज़िम्मेदारी का अर्थ वर्तमान का आनंद लेते हुए आगे के लिए पर्याप्त समय, संसाधन और देखभाल बचाकर रखना भी है।

A month later, the younger class began its planting project and found the supplies already prepared. The students who had planned the celebration saw how a small decision had helped people they might not even meet. They learned that responsibility includes enjoying the present while leaving enough time, resources, and care for what comes next.
