The Swan and the Crow: Humility vs Boastful Pride
On a sprawling banyan tree near the seacoast lived an arrogant crow who gorged on leftover treats and boasted that he was the greatest flyer in the world.
One day a flock of serene royal swans arrived. Envious of the praise they received, the crow challenged a noble swan to an aerial race across the open sea.
The swan modestly replied that swans only fly steadily. The crow mocked his modesty, prompting the swan to accept the flight over the ocean.
Far above the boundless waves, the crow exhausted his energy with erratic stunts. With no perch in sight, his heavy wings gave way and he began falling into the brine.
The compassionate swan swooped beneath the drowning bird, carried him upon his back, and brought him safely to shore, curing the crow of his empty vanity forever.
