🌟 Moral of the Story
"External praise feels good, but meaningful progress also comes from practice, reflection, and personal purpose."

Mira practised a challenging flute piece every afternoon. At first she struggled with the middle section, but she slowed it down, asked her teacher for help, and gradually played it smoothly. She was excited to perform at the school gathering.

Just before Mira began, an announcement about a delayed bus caused people to talk and check their phones. A few clapped at the end, but most of the audience was distracted. Mira walked off stage thinking, “I practised for weeks, and nobody cared.”

Her teacher, Mr. Bose, did not tell her that the audience’s reaction should not matter at all. He said, “It hurts when people don’t seem to notice something important to you. You also deserve an audience that listens. But let’s look at what you can learn from today.” They discussed how Mira kept the rhythm, recovered after one missed note, and played the difficult section far better than she had a month earlier. Her teacher offered two practical suggestions for next time and asked what she herself felt proud of.

Mira decided to record the piece and share it later with family and friends who could listen attentively. She still hoped for applause, but she no longer treated silence as proof that her work had no value. She learned to appreciate her own effort while remaining open to encouragement and helpful feedback from others.
