🌟 Moral of the Story
"Every honest contribution deserves dignity; notice the work that makes shared life possible."

The school’s annual celebration went smoothly. The stage was ready, the hall was clean, the chairs were arranged, and refreshments arrived on time. After the event, students spoke excitedly about the singers and dancers. Almost no one mentioned the people who had prepared the hall, carried equipment, cleaned spills, and served food.

Their teacher asked the class to list what had to happen before the first performance could begin. The list grew quickly. Students realized that the celebration depended on many kinds of work, much of it quiet and unseen.

The class discussed how to show appreciation without treating anyone as if they were there only to serve students. They asked the school staff what would actually be helpful. Some requested that students return used cups to the collection point; others asked that chairs be stacked only in the marked area. The class wrote personal thank-you notes, but also followed these practical requests.

One student said, “I used to think a thank-you was enough.” The teacher replied that thanks matter, but respectful behaviour matters every day. The class began leaving tables tidy and reporting spills rather than walking past them. The staff were not treated as a display or as people who needed praise from children; they were respected as members of the school community whose work mattered. The lesson was simple: notice contributions, express gratitude sincerely, and make daily choices that show respect for other people’s time and effort.
