🌟 Moral of the Story
"Good solutions begin by understanding different needs and comparing evidence, not by trying to win an argument."

The river divided two neighbouring communities, but a bridge connected each community to a school, market, and clinic. After several days of heavy rain, inspectors warned that both bridges needed repairs. Residents from each side gathered and argued that their own crossing should come first.

Asha, a student who had been helping record questions for the meeting, suggested that everyone first learn what the engineers had found. The community leaders invited the engineers to explain the risks in plain language. One bridge had a serious structural problem and had to be closed immediately. The other was still safe for limited use, provided people followed posted restrictions and avoided heavy vehicles.

The communities agreed to a plan: close the unsafe bridge, arrange a supervised temporary transport option for essential trips, and schedule the second bridge’s repair with a public timeline. They also agreed to share updates so rumours would not spread. The plan did not give everyone exactly what they wanted, and some journeys became longer. But people understood why the order mattered and could prepare for it.

Asha learned that cooperation does not mean pretending every need is the same. It means listening, checking reliable information, and making a decision people can understand—even when the decision is inconvenient.
